Hi everyone,
One or two macers have expressed an interest in another IOM rally this summer. This time spending a few days there and possibly circumnavigating with stops at Peel, Douglas or Ramsey. If anyone else is interested could they post a reply. I need a couple of months notice of dates due to work commitments.
Regards
Jim

Just a note to say that this event is now part of the main programme - even though the suggestion was received too late to be discussed at the AGM. Jim will post more details soon. Should be a very interesting event, and ideal for members in the North of England.
And how about you guys in Ireland? The Isle of Man is about halfway between the UK and the Emerald Isle. A rendezvous at the IoM sounds like a lot of fun!

As said I will look to join this event though the diary is getting filled with: Firth of Clyde now set at the week each side of the 28th June. Windermere potentially in September and (Snowflake) is now set to do the Union/Clyde Canal in May going in at Auchinstary Marina. As to the Isle of Man with the event being a bit slow to take off I have organised with some local sailing acquaintances (sadly not Mac Owners) to go from the Machars Garlieston Slip to coincide with the TT in early June. Finally I shall be setting off from Stranraer Slip on 30th April heading for Girvan Folk Weekend. So if the isle Of Man is to happen for me the date should be fixed pretty soon. john.jennings (Snowflake)

Hi Everyone,
Some interest in the IOM rally from John Jennings (Snowflake) and Quentin Sands (Mrs MacGregor) (if fit).
Given the date of the Clyde rally mid/late August would seem to be the best time.
Could interested parties let me know any preferences around then.
Regards
Jim

That would clash with the Fishguard/South Wales plan - but if different boats want to go to each ... ?

If the date is set soon we are good any time August though we have fixed to go anyway with non Mac's from Garlieston SW Scotland for the IOM TT first week in June. Gail and John (Snowflake) Incidentally we had our very first launch today and sailed in the beautiful Wigtown Bay. Another day of it tomorrow sailing a little closer to the IO Man will give us a good flavour for June and this event.

Hi Jim and John, As you have already suggested Jim my availability this time round will be based entirely on how well I recover from my hip replacement which is scheduled for the 30th April. I am hoping that by August I could be up for an IOM cruise but I reckon you should set the dates and, if fit and available, I will follow your lead. It would be good to build on last years foray. If there are any hip replacement survivors out there (hippies) you might be better placed to judge my chances of getting on the water this Summer? I would love to attend the Solent Rally (late July) and a return to the Clyde would be a treat. Maybe I'm dreaming again. Quentin

Quentin: I hope all goes well for you on 30th. My wife was up and about dashing here and there in no time so here's 'hopping' hope this inspires you to join us if you can. I'm sure you'll be fine. John (Snowflake)
