This is an opportunity for you to join a repeat of our successful "warm down" session in Freshwater. It should prove to be a popular relaxing event amidst the glorious scenery of The Lake District where there's often some fun sailing to be had from the interesting winds coming down off the hills.
Easy sheltered launching at Ferry Nab slipway, Bowness, on Friday. We won't be going far so if necessary you can join us at any time over the weekend. We will stay on mooring buoys at Ferry Nab each night.
On Sunday we will organise a regatta - but remember, the winner isn't always the first boat past the line!
We will arrange evening meals out at local pubs/restaurants/fish and chips and there should be opportunities for picnic/bbq lunches.
There's ample parking for cars (small fee payable) and trailers (free) and free toilet/shower facilities.
Because of a loophole in the regulations it is now possible to buy a licence for the lake for just £5 plus a few ponds for number plates. There's a launch fee of £10 (covers in and out) and the hire of mooring buoys will cost £10 a night per boat.
We'll be out of the high season so things should be pretty relaxed. However, there aren't very many visitors' buoys so we need to book them soon so that we can all be together.
So you really need to decide now - don't delay. Please register your interest as soon as possible - just telephone Mike McNerney on 01695 576905 or e-mail
If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me.
Note: Are you one of the several Mac owners who moor at Windermere? If so, we do hope you will join us - even if you are only able to come along for one day for lunch or an evening meal it would be nice to meet you - do get in touch.
