Hi everyone, believe it or not this is the third time I have tried to update this page nearly 2 hrs typing and then lost the lot, so i will try again!
there are 8/9 boats trying to make this rally, several of us will leave Chichester Marina at 12 oclock Saturday maybe meeting up with several others on the way to Portsmouth, the others are from other destinations and we will all meet up at Hardway Sailing Club( on the portside of the Harbour on the way to Fareham)
sometime Saturday afternoon, some are getting there on Friday, so moor up on the pontoon and then obtain a electronic gate pass card from the clubhouse. Remember this pontoon will dry out as we are on springs, so remember to lift everything up. the mooring is £10 per day. I have still not recieved a menu but they are expecting up to 17 people for food which will probrably be everday stuff at reasonable prices.I propose for sunday that we leave reasonably early and make our way to Bembridge, possibly stopping at priory bay for a beach bbq ( bring a disposable one anyway) on the rising tide, and then enter Bembridge before the deepkeelers, we can dry out on the beach on the portside just inside the Harbour by the sailing club or try and get on the Duvar pontoons further in on starboardside, they do have a bbq area for hire but its probrably already booked weeks in advance due to the bank holiday.I think this make a good choice geographically for those going home on Monday.I have made some enquiries about a meal at the Braden Haven Yacht Club, but need to know asap so as to book anything. any queries questions ring me om my mobile. I also propose we use ch 6 vhf for this rally (I will be on dual watch)Looking forward to meeting you all, hope the weather is good and we all have a really nice time.

Ron
Put us down as a "probable", depending on getting ourselves organized when we get back from Oz.
I've no preferences about itinerary as I don't know the area.

Hi Ron
Restless is likely.
Didn't get chi' slip... £22 total incuding recovery & parking? Chi' harbour could be nice as long as the tides are at useful times from what I remember. Else Ryde - Newport is pretty cool too. :)
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice; In practice, there is.

Hi, Im not sure of our plans but hope to get on as many rallies this yr as I can. Would probably sail up from Southampton. Bembridge can be a nice triangulation from Chichester and Portsmouth and they offer a gas BBQ on land for viitors to share. However berths can be a bit limited on busy weekends.
I havent yet been into Langstone so that would be interesting too.

I think Rhyde is also worthy for a stop. beach bbq doable there though it is a drying out harbour. Thought Bembridge was a bit boring...

Hi Ron
I'd like to join this one. I'm on the IoW, so there's no point me trailing to the starting point. If it's Chichester I guess that's a full day trip just to get there! From my own point of view, it would be easier to start/end at say Portsmouth and head East, but that's just me!
My dates are flexible, I'm not limited to just the BH weekend. Keep me up to date on plans.
Cheers

Any more details on this one? It's only a month away now, so are the plans getting any more definite?
I hope it's still going ahead!

Jon and Toni Dane on Danser plan to launch at Northney. Advantage is that route from Northney to Chichester harbour entrance is due south, so westerly wind is sailable. Route from Chichester is due west, so motoring.
Our son Karl plans to join us Sat AM, and go home Sun AM.
