I'll be out and about across the weekends from my new mooring 3 down from you ;).

This weekend the rough plan is to throw the boat on a beach somewhere for the Sat afternoon (looks Easterly Sat so maybe Thorness) then back to Mercury for the eve.

Will also be chucking Song of Life in on Friday night for some friends to camp on for a couple of days.

Well, summer has hit with a bang! I thought I would be but holiday plans have changed so I'm free this weekend and planning to sail Thursday to Sunday. Anyone interested to join me with their boat or come as crew .

I am planning to be sailing on Maximus from 8th September for 5 days , possibly along to Poole or Weymouth and then from 16th to 18th also so if anyone is keen to join in either as crew or to meet up with their boat please let me know either on this forum or individually and we can see what works.

Would have loved to of meet

Would have loved to of meet up, but just had over two weeks pin balling around the Solent out of Bucklers Hard Poole & Swanage. We arrived back home in north Yorkshire late last night.we had a very exciting time down on the south coast. Maybe next year. While we we're down we were looking for a 7 month summer mooring, we've got a few ideas to play with. Have a great sail Roly & hope to meet up sometime in the future.👍⛵

Just got back from a great trip to Poole with 2 old friends . Visited Yarmouth, Lymington, Poole amd Bucklers Hard. Mixture of bracing fast reaches, hammering into 30 knot breezes , involuntary sea water showers , magical morning light , brilliant sunny fast return across Poole Bay and western solent . Last day light air tested my sailing skills ,steering by the balance if the boat. Great fun all in all.

Nice one Roly, great marina Bucklers Hard. 30 knots wind, you must have been well well reefed. The water's from the west Solent to Poole especially around Hurst point can get very confused & choppy. Four weeks ago we got two miles past Hurst point & decided to turn back to the Solent as the waves we're breaking over the bow & dodger very uncomfortable. Managed to get to Poole the following week I'm currently looking for somewhere to store our boat for possibly next season. We are on the waiting list at Bucklers Hard. So fingers crossed.

Just had a nice couple of days with another member,Hugh , to Newtown Creek and overnight at the Folly Inn upriver from Cowes. We were lucky to find a space on their walk ashore pontoon ....so straight in for a pint and a crew pot!

Next weekend I'm hoping to go east up to Bembridge or Ryde/ Portsmouth . Anyone interested to join me as crew ?...or meet up on the water ?

Last minute call...I was hoping to do some night sailing this year but my lights weren't working , but now fixed. Anyone free for a sail from Hamble towards Portsmouth tomorrow afternoon and return in the dark by 10.30 ?

Probably my last trip of the year.
