Does anyone know if spares for the 26X transom valve, ie the rubber seals, are available in UK? Launched 3Ems last week and the valve is dribbllng water when tide out. At present am leaving boat in water and hoping don't get an overfill problem!
hi mac owners,my yam 50 betdl outboard wont rev past 3000rpm then becomes lumpy and stalls, and stalls on low revs when motoring slowly,i have stripped the carbs and found nothing in particular,my boat is ella 2,does anyone have any ideas?or have had similar probs?best wishes will
Perhaps like all boat owners it's not always possible to muster crew every time you fancy a sail and so for this season, to try and get an extra sail or two, I'm hoping that Mac Sailors in the vicinity or Rutland Water (and I have just over an hours drive) might be up for a bit of extra sailing!
If you are intending going on the Morbihan Rally I have some old charts that may be appropriate (will need updating)
Admiralty 2358 Golfe de Morbihan
Admiralty 2353 Presqu'ile de Quiberhon to Le Croisic
If you want them, then they are yours for the price of P&P
Cheers
Morris

I read an article on the American Website MacGregor Sailers Pages which outlined an idea to lower the COG of the boat. In essence the chap had drilled out the lower portion of the Dagger Board and poured molton lead inside to add weight at the lowest point whilst maintaining the boards original shape. I've often wondered whether something similar could not have been added by MacGregor themselves but assumed that either it would have an adverse effect or its benefits would not be worth the effort on something that is essential there to prevent leeway.
Towards the end of last season my Yamaha 50hp OB Tilt mechanism started playing up and in the end refused to work at all, fortunately in the engine up position.
The yard engineers were asked to have a look at the problem when the boat was lifted out for winter storage, they checked the Tilt Motor and found it was knackered! They also got a price off Yamaha for a replacement and it was over £600.00 - Argh!!!
I decided that I would try to source a cheaper motor myself on the web and as I found one priced at just over $300 plus shipping, I decided to go with it.
