Damaged Pulpit on Sushi a 26X

Forums:

Has anyone out there ever had to replace the stainless steel metal works associated with the pulpit?
The pulpit on Sushi is little bent shall we say after a minor bump last weekend with the jetty at Calshot in the Solent in strong winds.
I have had a good look at the fixings which appear to be bolted through the coachroof and there does not seem to be an obvious way to get at the nuts from the cabin without causing major demolition works to the lining

Flying a spinnaker

Forums:

Just had to say that I finally got my asymmetric spinnaker flying last Friday :) I bought it last year, at the same time that I replaced my main and jib, but it's taken a few iterations of tweaking the rig, and well as suitable conditions to try it out. But at last it worked!

Reluctant centreboard

Forums:

I am new to sailing my macgregor 26X and finding the centreboard is regularly reluctant to drop. Before first sailing I dropped the board out cleaned it sealed a split on the lower edge and refitted and everything seemed in order. What i am suspecting is a frayed cable or perhaps estuary currents fighting gravity. Can anyone throw any light on this before i lift boat from trailer to investigate further.

26X Parasol

Forums:

Lidl are selling a rectangular parasol that is the same size as a 26X cockpit cost £20
Unfortunately the tube is not the same size as the mast support so I have fitted to brackets to the pedestal
Probably no good if you spend you time at sea but perfect for lochs and lakes

26x steering cables

Forums:

John connerly phoned and asked if anyone knows where you can get a steering cable and steering head
his email is off air at present so either reply to this forum or he said he is hapy to share his phone number 01344 625 331

he also says that the steering cables he currently has stick and putting a screwdriver in the cable head and wiggle it will free it but of course this is temporary

andy ideas please let john or I know
