centre board

Forums:

When I fully lower the centre board on my 26X before setting off it easily falls to its full extent. However, I notice that after I have motored for a short while I have slack in the raising line and the centre board has retracted to about half way. If I slow down or stop, the centre board does not automatically lower to the full down position again. Could it be that it is not fully lowered in the first place? Does the centre board fill with water (as the rudders do) to keep it down? Any suggestions or ideas please. Thanks Steve. (silver impulse)

Transducer adjustment to protect when beaching

Forums:

Hi all
A niggly problem that is haunting me every time I beach. How can I move the sensors out of the way of any random stones when the boat dries out on an ebb? I have a few possible ideas, but if anyone has a tried and tested method I think it would be a great share. I have a log paddle and depth sounder which are forever getting into trouble. Only a matter of time until one of them breaks completely!

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice; In practice, there is.

Suzuki DT2 2hp outboard tender engine manual anywhere?

Forums:

Hi
I've jusr rebuilt one of these and got it running again after taking apart EVERY damn screw/bolt on it. However, the idle is rather fast (no tickover possible.. bit hectic!) so I was wondering if anyone has a manual/experience that includes some details on setting the points/timing up?

Many thanks

yamaha 50 cooling

Forums:

Hi Mac owners,i was motoring back from Rothsay this week when the spout from the impellar slowed to a trickle,i made it in to holy loch suspecting a failed impellar, however as a hopefull try anything measure i pushed a safety pin into the exit hole on the motor wiggled it around and this seemed to do the trick ,the motor is now fine with a healthy jet of water out.Just thought i would let you know in case anyone else suffers the same fault!

Missing sail batten

Forums:

I lost a sail batten from my standard Doyle mainsail but I'm not sure of the exact size for replacement and the boat is in France so I can't check it.
Length is not a problem - I'll take a hacksaw with me but what gauge?
When I looked at it, I measured a half inch but the UK ones seem to be metric starting at 16mm. I can't remember how snug the fit is especially the fit of the end caps in the pockets - so my question is - does anyone know if the 16mm will fit?

Thanks

Mike
