Yesterday I did something interesting.
I planned a long passage on a fictitious RYA map, from Dunbarton Marina to Victoria Marina.
I worked out it was 39 nautical miles and would take 2 and a half hours. (not long really, but long enough for me)
Hi All,
I am in the process of selling my Mac26C. The new owner is planning to take it to Spain. If he can't prove that VAT has been paid on the boat, they will charge VAT again. When I bought the boat from the previous owner (who wasn't the original purchaser) I got a Bill of Sale, but no VAT invoice. Would any of you be able to prove that VAT has been paid on your boat? i.e do you have the original Bill of Sale?
Please post here to say if you are planning on coming to the AGM.
As you know, we don't send out reply slips these days with the Notice of AGM, but bearing in mind we are at a new venue (have we triggered mass interest??), it would be useful for catering planning.
Interesting news on the American site this evening. After 45 years in the business Roger MacGregor is planning to retire. According to the info by Blue Water Yachts, production of trailer sailers in California is going to seize but will be taken up by Roger’s daughter in Florida. They are planning a new model (according to the post more related to the classic).
Thank you sooo much Liz.
My friends are all superior photographers,
So much so that I don't usually take pictures,
I ask for copies of theirs.
So....... When Ray pointed out that my picture
Had actually made the Mag's front cover....
Well, I am sooo delighted. I'm dead chuffed
It's made my day.
Just had the news that both Ray and I have passed the first assessment
of our Day Skipper Course . :D
I was ready to throw in the towel after week 5. :?
All that stuff about Magnetic North, Deviation, and Tidal Curves was
a bit much . But I was told to stick with it and it would all come
together and I had promised Ray that I would give it my best
shot, so a few weeks on and here we are with the first
' exam' passed and under our belts . :P
Hi all,
Our 26x has mainsail reefing. A great idea if you leave your boat permanently rigged and very convenient for single handed sailing.
The system fitted is rivited to the mast making it appear to be an 'in mast reefing' system. The mainsail is specially cut to include vertical battens.
As I want to use the boat as a proper trailer sailer this makes the mast too heavy to take up and down regularly.
So three options - 1) remove and replace with a one or two string slab reefing system.(sell old system)
