Have you insured your Mac26 with Haven Knox Johnson?
Have you considered their standard exclusion clause 5m as follows:-
“IN ADDITION WHERE THE MAXIMUM DESIGNED SPEED OF THE VESSEL OR HER BOAT(S) EXCEEDS 17 KNOTS (20 M.P.H.) no claim shall be allowed in respect of loss, damage, liability or expense arising from such Vessel or boat(s) being left unattended off an exposed beach or shore.”
I don’t know what the rationale is for this exclusion only applying to certain speed boats and not to others but logic is not always to the fore in these matters.
hi , i am trying to find any members in scotland , i had a look at the members list ,but a lot of members information is pretty vague . Iam looking to meet up with fellow owners for experience and chat
This is yet another warning about criminal activity swirling around out there in the world of boats.
A few days ago I heard from someone who was looking to buy a boat but he had become suspicious of the seller of the boat concerned (advertised on boatsandoutboards). It transpired that the matter was indeed a scam - boatsandoutboards have immediately removed the ad. The "seller" was simply masquerading as the owner of a boat that he had presumably picked at random.
Although fibreglass, both these vessels looked stunning lying in their births at Excel. Admittedly, I could possibly fault a little slop in the rudder linkages and water ballast was ambitious, to say the least, for vessels of this size. Myself and my wife Yvonne, agonised, as we talked to the MacGregor salesman. We asked if he were in our position which one he'd go for. "Without hesitation the Clipper!" he said ... but of course he would, that was 55,000 compared to the more reasonable 36,000 for the Cutter.
Just thought I'd post to say how much I enjoyed reading Mark Stevenson's article in this month's Magazine.
It made for a very funny read and I could identify with some of his mistakes along the way having just made some enormous bloopers during my practical course.
Hope your ex crew is now on speaking terms again Mark :D
I was very disappointed that, despite our record numbers, so few Members came to the AGM last Saturday, especially after so many more recent Members told me last Summer that they hoped to join in when they realised it was not just a meeting to deal with (boring) things like rules, Committee members, finances etc, but more about Sailing, Messing about in Boats, "Boaty things" & meeting Friendly & Helpful People & kindred Spirits.
Come on Members - tell the Committee "Whadoyouwant - Whendoyouwanit? " & - most important - Join In !
