Interesting news on the American site this evening. After 45 years in the business Roger MacGregor is planning to retire. According to the info by Blue Water Yachts, production of trailer sailers in California is going to seize but will be taken up by Roger’s daughter in Florida. They are planning a new model (according to the post more related to the classic).

I like the idea of sending them a Thank You card with a photo of our boats !

Update : There are going to be two new models, a 22 foot sail boat and a 26 foot boot based on the existing M. They will not carry the MacGregor name :o !
Thanks for pointing that out Immo. This news will shake things in our cosy little world up a bit. I wonder what the 22' will be like? Hmm. More importantly, I wonder what improvements they will incorporate into the worth 26m & X models.

I hope the new distributor is not left out in the cold. Colin made the effort to show an 'M' at the Excell boat show, a very expensive
place to sell from. He mentioned when Pauline and I visited the stand that he had a number of demo's to do. I hope he can get boats
to sell, ( more members are always welcome !)

The new company is called Tattoo Yachts. Laura Sharp (Roger's daughter) explained that the name is "a nod to their British and Scottish heritage" :D . They are on facebook and their new website is under construction ....
I suspect that all the distributors have been invited to sell the new 'Tattoo' boats, after all, how many businesses can start up from scratch with a ready made and sympathetic worldwide dealer network allready in place?
I suspect we will see more of the same but improved.

First pictures of the Tattoo 26 motor sailer on Facebook ! So far only of the interior :
Looks very familiar ...
Why change a winning formula, but I do see a womans touch there?
At least it saves me the decision of whether to rush off and sell my M and buy the latest model! ;)

... and here is a drawing of the 22 :

I have to admit I quite like the look of her - but 22 feet and wheel steering ?
