Hiding the wiring

Forums:

when I recently bought my 2006 26M it came with no working electronics. I would like to install a fixed VHF and have decided to go mast ariel and through deck fitting next to the light connection. Once inside the boat I am having trouble knowing where to go next. In order to save wasted hours I thought I would canvas experiences. My first thought is to site the unit adjacent to the fuse panel as clearly there is already wiring from the mast underside area to that point. Has anyone successfully pulled through any additional wiring to the fuse panel?

Roller furlers

Forums:

I'm planning to fit a roller furler (for the foresail) to my Mac 19, and been ploughing through the minefield of the various products available. My previous 26X had a CDI furler, as widely used on many Macs, and this uses a plastic foil (the rotating bit the sail wraps round) which is highly flexible.

NEW SAIL

New main sail for 26 m

Have been speaking to Jeckell sails about a new full batten sail with
plastic sliders and two reefs . With the plastic sliders how to make a feeder gate.
Is this the way to go? Has anyone replaced their sail?

Just being nosy...

Spotted moored up on the River Dart not far from the upper ferry, and called "Summer Wine". We would have come over, but we were cruising past on the "Kingswear Castle" paddle steamer at the time! A fine looking vessel if I may say so.

It takes a village....

Just wrapping up my first sail and want to publicly thank Steven and Graham for their invaluable help and support. Steven is a sailing guru... I would have taken weeks to sort out what he did in a day. Graham is as good of sailing companion as you could hope for, and did not even laugh (much) at my nifty 360 move! Overall a great weekend on the Orwell, even if my autohelm unit tried to kill us! A profound thank you to you both!!!
