Mac 26 C parts

Forums:

Just seen this on Facebook if anyone needs any parts. Based in Gosport so a little too far for me to pop down.

I've attached photo of post but in case it doesn't work the text is as follow:

"We’re about to scrap this Macgregor 26 which we had in for the trailer. If anyone wants or needs any specific parts from her now is your chance to let us know.

Will be going on Monday. Sails, spinnaker, mast, boom, winches, hatches.Trailer is also available (£1,000). At Boatbreakers in Gosport."

26x mast

Forums:

Hi, does anyone know where a replacement mast for a 1998 26X can be purchased. Looking to replace one snapped in two in the recent storms. Was hoping a UK source could be found rather than Bluewater Yachts with the hope a UK one would be cheaper.

26M Sprayhood and Cockpit enclosure

Forums:

I love my spray hood and cockpit enclosure , made by Advanced Covers of Southampton . Still going strong after 14 years ! They were made to my specification so that the hood prides some shelter but you can still step over it and the enclosure can convert to a simple bimini.

Unfortunately Rob had lost his patterns but has recently measured up from my boat and should be able to manufacture will likely fit for you if not too far away. His price was very reasonable at the time but that was a long time ago.

26C Toilet

Forums:

Hi. Anyone got any recommendations for porta potti type toilet for a 26C?

Mine didn't come with one, and it looks like there is an inset in the moulding for a particular size.

Or, at least, I assume that cupboard is meant for a toilet.. It's a bit short of head-height! Maybe the stern locker would be a better place..

Vhf coax

Forums:

Hi,

I'm looking at replacing my in mast coax cable with tinned RG8x coax, I've been having some radio issues and the cabling is probably about 20 years old so looking at replacing. Does anyone know a good supplier for this?

Thanks

Boat cover

Forums:

Hello,

We are looking for a boat cover for our 26X.

Are there any ready made or can you recommend someone who makes them, good quality & reasonably priced. I've seen some crazy prices.
We may go for an over the mast (when resting) at least that will run the rain etc. off. Thank you

Insurance

Forums:

Hi

Anyone got any insurance recommendations?

Companies that understand trailer sailers, or pay out without too much resistance..

I'm with Towergate, coming up for renewal, but I'm not sure if the nature of a large trailer boat slips through the coverage..

Thanks

Ridge monkey!

Forums:

If you haven't already got one of these in your life/boat, you should have. The ridge monkey is a simple 'sandwich toaster' type cooking implement. Ridge monkey is the brand so you may need to search 'ridge monkey sandwich toaster'. There are several shapes and sizes but I recommend the larger, non segmented version as it is the most useful. It is compact and amazingly non-stick. With the exception of perhaps a kettle, you can chuck out all the other pots and pans and it all folds up and fits in the silly little cupboard under the sink! We regularly do eggs on toast aboard.
