Hi
Anyone got any insurance recommendations?
Companies that understand trailer sailers, or pay out without too much resistance..
I'm with Towergate, coming up for renewal, but I'm not sure if the nature of a large trailer boat slips through the coverage..
Thanks
Mike B

Hi Michael
I originally used the RYA sponsored policy, but they changed brokers a few years ago and hiked the premiums horribly!
I now use GJW who charge a fair price, and with good cover. I've never had to claim though so can't vouch for how that would go.
The main accidental risk to the trailer is when towing, for which you need a good breakdown policy that will cover the size of the trailer. Trailer recovery won't be covered by the boat policy.

I started out with GJW for a number of years and had a couple of claims dealt with promptly by them without quibble. However now with SAGA who were cheaper and seem good. You should ensure that your insurance covers European waters if you think you will venture across there.

I use Saga. It understands trailer sailors and trailer towing, you can speak to someone and you get a no claims discount.
Saga here as well..very pleased with them

I use Craftinsure ,seem a good company- worth getting a quote.
We used GJW but will be looking round soon. Don't forget the Rac through the caravan club do an excellent breakdown & trailer insurance
Thanks to all.
Unfortunately (?) I'm only in my mid 40s so no Saga for me!
I was recommended CETA they seemed reasonable.
