At the AGM it was agreed that we would plan to go to Ireland as our overseas adventure . 3 boats confirmed their interest and the proposal is for it to be in the first full week of July although this can be a little flexible . Ros and I will bring Maximus and plan to spend a couple of weeks exploring Ireland by van ,in addition to a week or so sailing with MOA. The earliest ferry we can get from Holyhead to Dublin would be morning of 3rd July . Ferry cost seems to be about £550
The plan would be to join other Irish Mac owners at Loch Durgh , a large and beautiful lake where we can visit a number of quaint villages and then have an option to take the Shannon canal to Limmerick and the Shanon estuary.
It would be great if there are others who can join us on this rare opportunity to link up with Irish Mac owners and explore the Emerald Isle . So far we have Maximus , Black Shadow (Andy and Tracy Vincent) and Sarenne ( Mark Peers) .
Those committed will need to be booking ferries soon to avoid disappointment so it would be good to firm up dates ASAP.

Hi ,
I would like to draw your attention to ISSUE 99 2017 which gives a good account of what to expect . There is a nice write up on a gathering on Lough Derg . One nice thing to think about is that there are no mooring or launch fees. There are facilities in almost all stopover areas. If I can be of any assistance please ask or contact Roly.

Hi Roly, sounds wonderful, unfortunately that is the weekend of the F1 at Silverstone that I have already booked and paid for, followed by the Goodwood Festival of Speed, so I'll not be able to attend. I'm sure that you will have a wonderful time!
There could still be some flexibility with dates so please anyone shout if they want to come but dates are wrong.
Well, due dynamic pricing it seemed that the ferry crossing cost was shooting up by the day so I have decided to book .
We are on the 8.05 sailing from Holyhead on 2.7.26 which arrives about 11.25 in Dublin and hence we should be a Dromineer by 3 ish in time for rig and launch.
Ros and I plan to tour by van for 10 days after the boat trip and return on 23rd 14.30 sailing.
I believe the Vincents hope to make a similar sailing but not about Mark. Ofcourse the more that can come the merrier ! It'll be a grand adventure !
Roly which company are you sailing with.
Jonathan
Were going with Irish Ferries...much cheaper than Stena. We get a small discount through Camping and Motorhome Club but Andrew got similar. Hope you can make it .
We have booked onto the Irish Ferries 14.10 sailing on 2 July arriving 17.25 so unlikely to be at Dromineer before 20.00 /21.00. launching on the 3rd unless Im feeling very active!!
Fingers crossed Miriam is well enough though I have taken out insurance just in case.
