We are planning to drive up on 1st July to get the 8.05 ferry on 2nd . Our plan was to stay in a campsite near the ferry at Holyhead but Im having some trouble getting through to anyone about this or they cant take our size. Can anyone recommend somewhere nearby ?
Unfortunately pen y bont said they couldn't accommodate such a large boat. Andy and Tracey have booked a nearby hotel with large carpark so we have done the same. I tried a couple of other sites but they either said no or were not available on the phone.
Looking forward to meeting you all. How many boats are coming from UK. Liz might be able to advise on what to expect as she was with us on a previous occasion.
Dromineer is a good choice for launching with its public slipway and moorings, all free of charge. Its a short distance from the motorway.
That's great Tom , I believe we are now at 5 boats coming across from England , most of us coming across on the 2nd July aiming to be launched by next morning. We shall then have probably 10 days on the water at least. Do you know if any other Irish Macgregir boats can join us ? Hope so.
I'm so looking forward to seeing you all in Lough Derg and hope to have my 26X "Dottie" ready for the adventure. I'll be keeping close to Tom and will help out in any way I can.
I've been making enquiries on your behalf at Lough Derg Yacht Club for launching and storing of trailers. There are also some campsite facilities.
Thanks David , if you require any help let me know. We have 5 Irish boats sofar that have shown intrest. Looks like we are going to have a nice gathering weather permitting.

I'll ask around. I wish I could invite you to mine - but you wouldn't like my track!!
Hi Roly
Is Pen y Bont no good? They were OK with our van and the 19 on the previous trip, or is Maximus too big for them?

Hi Roly,
When we were in Ireland last May we failed to book any sites online or by email. We ended up calling by phone.

If anyone would like me to call round and ask/book - let me know (I was looking at Pen y Bont too). I am passing that way quite often.
