Hi all, A friend is buying the mast from a 26D that is at a breakers. He wants to fit it to a 26X as his mast was broken in the recent storms at Windermere. Does anybody know if this is doable or is he wasting his time. I have asked this on the thread that listed the boat at the breakers but got no replies so I thought it's own thread would be seen by more people. Thanks in advance.

I imagine the D mast is similar to the C . Any offers from C owners?

Good news Brian, got 2 positive replies:
I believe they use the same mainsail and mast. BWyachts will be online in an hour, I’d wait and see what Cheryl says. She’ll know for certain.
Andrew Olson lol yup about this time every day! Yes classic (D) and X same mast and mainsail, classic (D) uses a shorter headsail.

Thanks Quentin. It is Mike on Windermere who you introduced me to. He had damage in the first storm and ended up on Belle Isle and then during the second storm the shackle on the concrete base broke and he ended up on Belle Isle with a broken mast.

The mast is the same but the holes for rigging are different.

I go up most weeks as I left mine on the lake over winter but it is usually Sun Mon Tues or Wed when I can make it. Let me know the exact date of launching and I will know better then. Thanks for the input I have forwarded all the replies onto Mike so he can make the decision. I have also told him to join!
