I am putting in an application for a mooring on Windermere behind bell island but am not sure on security .last time I was there(2003)with my Mac c.Tara i had no problem except my tender was taken from ferry nab and used to take stuff from some other boat and was found on the north side by the ferry slip
1 have a bolt lock on the transom for the outboard and the usual padlock on the washboard do you have any other suggestions?

Theft of boats is thankfully rare but theft from them is all too common. The outboards are apparently not too vulnerable since they are too heavy to just walk off with but not big enough and valuable enough to attract the serious thieves who target the 150HP+. One good bit of advice is to have a shabby old looking cover for your outboard as it will not then attract any interest.
Adding a more secure washboard (mine is made from aluminium checker plate), and better lock hasps.
Locking your trailer with a hick lock and wheel clamp (This wasn't sufficient to stop my trailer being stolen). I would strongly suggest also chaining it to something solid with a quality motorcycle lock.
Posting a 24 hour armed guard.....
