Hello everyone I am going to be moving to Ireland this year so am thinking of selling Poppy with a mooring on Windermere. I am looking for some advice on the price to ask as I am feeling a bit bewildered. She is a 1991 26C with standard equipment. She has a single axle trailer and a 8HP Honda outboard. I paid 10,500 for her in 2012 which I am now thinking was too much. Looking on apolloduck there is a range of prices for UK boats from 8,500 to 15,000. There is a similar boat to mine on boatsandoutboards for 11,500 also in Cumbria. I thought this was encouraging. Then I spoke to a yacht broker in Windermere who had access to a database of historic boat sales nationally and he was finding prices of boats like Poppy selling for 6,000 to 8,000. I met someone on Windermere recently who bought a 26C for 8,000. I know there is no way of predicting what a boat might sell for but I would like an idea of what is a realistic expectation since a range from 6,000 to 11,000 seems quite large and will influence my decision whether to sell her. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks Jason

selling Poppy my 26C

Hi Jason, I have, I hope, attached pics (not too oversized) of Mrs Mac and Poppy cuddled up together on Windermere. I have been up quite a lot recently and can report that Poppy is looking good.
Regarding your query, I paid 10k for Mrs Mac in 2011 and at the time I think it was a fair deal especially with all the good will and assistance that came with the sale. If I had waited longer and searched harder I might have saved a bit, but I wanted to get on with it and I guess you did too.
I've found this good looking 'S' for sale on the internet for 8.5k which looks to be well specced and well looked after:

Are either of our boats any better than this?
But this is unsavoury talk. When I bought my Mac it was to have a second home in the Lake District for under £10k. Where we are moored is a millionaires location! I could not put a price on the fun that has come my way on Mrs Mac.
But, if there are any prospective Mac owners out there, I can vouch for Poppy's quality and a location that is hard to beat.....
Hope to see you Jason, before you sail for Ireland.
