I recently bought a 26x which had never been sailed (only motored) and want to know the length of the jib and genoa sheets
as when i put up the mast this weekend they seem to be missing
Also has anybody launched from Bater Park Poole? (old name) As i'm based in Oxfordshire does anybody know of a good place
to keep it along the Solent area (about 60 to 90 min: drive away from me)
As the boat was never named i will call it ALCEDO atthis (common kingfisher in latin)

Does anybody know

If you have both jib and genoa, then you only really need one set of sheets, long enough for the genoa. The normal arrangement is a single rope attached to the clew at its centre. I can't give you the actual length at the moment though, as my boat is some miles away - hopefully someone else can jump in.
There are many places to keep your boat around the Solent, the main question is whether you plan to keep her on a mooring, or on the trailer and launch when required. In the former case, you of course still need a suitable launch ramp nearby in order to get her in the water in the first place, unless you're prepared to pay for a crane.
Place that come to mind are:
Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu - hard standing with adjacent ramp, don't know if moorings are available. Over 30 mins. motoring to get downriver to the Solent.
Calshot - hard standing and ramp, no moorings that I know of, but right on the Solent.
Southampton - River Itchen is I think the best area, boat yards with launching and moorings.
River Hamble - like the Itchen but more so, and more expensive!
Portsmouth Harbour - Port Solent could be worth a look, but again it's a long motor to get to the sea.
That's not exhaustive, hopefully others will chime in with more ideas.
