Hi all. I’ve had a phone call today from a member with a 26C at Twickenham Yacht Club with a desperate call for help. The boat actually belonged to their son who is currently abroad and unable to return. It has been for sale for a while and they have finally found a buyer but they have a problem.
They have no towing vehicle and no experience of retrieving and need help to get the trailer from Twickenham to Chertsey and then to pull the boat out. The new buyer is also a novice!
Can anyone give assistance? Adrian is away at the moment so I thought I’d start with a general ‘interweb’ appeal.
Thanks,
Kate

Help needed w/e 23/24 October...

Hi Cathy,
It's a bit of a trek to Twickenham, but if the guy is really stuck and there is no-one closer, we could do the job on Saturday 23rd, but not Sunday 24th. Don't know much about 26C recovery, but it's probably not much different to a 26X.

Hello again, Cathy,
Before we get carried away with this, we need to know more about what and where. Some time ago i tried to launch Avocet at Penton Hook Marina, Chertsey, and found that the slipway was quite unsuitable and I don't know any others nearer than Windsor. So please don't make any promises to your contact until some of the detail is clear.

Thanks Bill - I'll talk to Lyn again - dont know where the 26C originally went into the water ...
