Cruising French canals

Has anyone experience of taking their Mac around the French canals. We hope to spend 3/4 weeks next year there including time in Paris so any tips appreciated.

geoff,
if you look up in some of the old MacGregor Sailor newsletters (around 2-3 years ago) one of members did extensive journeys on various French canals from Biscay to Med, Med to Mid France, Mid France to Paris and beyond to Austria in a 26X

Hi
As a linguist, I would very seriously suggest michel thomas' language cd sets. They are brilliant. Mandy got a fantastic gist of French in a week, and I've used them for german and brush up italien. Not often I'll say this, but the guy is (was) a teaching genius.
Let me know if this is of interest.. I've got the french as an mp3...

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice; In practice, there is.

Hi Thanks for suggestion. We both have smattering of french and are intending to revise before we spend time there. Any thing you are able to offer to do this would be much appreciated.

Thanks for info. have tried to look through old newsletters but crucial ones dont seem to be available in web library. looks all fairly straightforward once have all licences etc. will plan to go by road from Yorkshire to somewhere around Paris and then slip and leave car/trailer in boatyard - just need to find suitable facilities

Do you have an mp3 player or ipod type thing? We are quite curious about doing a bit of french calaning too... tho thinking of crossing the channel rather than slipping over there.
