I know that no one will be doing any ocean cruising in a Mac!! But I am wondering if anyone here is a member of the ocean cruising club? I'm going to join as a way to mix with long distance sailors in my lifelong quest to sail around the world. I need to get a sponsor for my application so could you please let me know if you are able to help me. Thank you Jason

Hi, Jason, Looks like no-one is able to help you. Sorry about that. Maybe signing up to the Jubilee Trust will get you some big boat sailing and improve your CV. Also Tall Ships and Ocean Youth Club. Good Luck with your dream voyage.

Sorry I only just saw your message Simon. I have actually done a lot offshore already on other people's boats, with 26,000 miles logged until 2007 when a severe traumatic brain injury curtailed much of my activity. I have sailed with JST and OYC and done various offshore races like the Fastnet and round Ireland etc. I have joined the OCC now so hope to mix with some like-minded people now.
Good Luck with that, Jason. It looks like you have the evidence but maybe it is a bit old so some up to date logs and sailing in company (to get a reference) might work for you.
I have done loads of offshore but never logged anything so as far as the sailing world is concerned I am an untrained novice.
