Moving my boat to Essex

Hi guys

I just bought a MacGregor. No trailer. We sailed it over from Cowes to Lymington Marina on Sunday. Now I need to get it trailered back to Essex.

I've contacted a couple of guys offering transport on ebay but thought I'd try here at the owners club too.

Any help appreciated. If someone in the club can do it (obviously I'll pay) or knows someone

My number is 07808 253553

Cheers

Hi Rob

Hi Rob

I recently did the reverse in that I bought a boat in Essex and had it towed down to Portsmouth. I got a recommendation from the broker and was very pleased with the job and the price. In my case they used my own trailer but at one point I was not buying the trailer and they were going to move it with one of theirs. Here is the link https://www.bmlboattransport.com/ .

All the best, Frank

My boat came home again on

My boat came home again on Sunday due to half of Wales being in lockdown again. Although wecare notbin lockdown our home is lockdown too far away from the marina to be allowed to visit. So we got just over a month on the water and one weeks sailing. What a year. Unfortunately it also means I cant help out.

Hi Rob

Hi Rob

Just curious, did you buy the 26M that was in Richardsons yard at Island Harbour Marina? I know the one for sale there didn't have a trailer and wondered what the new owner would do.

The trailer was in a bad way,

The trailer was in a bad way, it was an American aluminium one modified for UK use with a steel tube drawbar. The steel had completely rusted through, so I assume he sold it to someone who wanted to re-build and/or adapt it.

Hi Rob. I'm looking into the possibility of refurbishing my old trailer. However if you didn't need anything for it to stand on when in Essex you could potentially borrow my trailer that it on my driveway in Southampton. I'm afraid I can't offer to help with the move just now because of work and family commitments.
