My latest plan is that 3

My latest plan is that 3 boats will rendezvous at Mercury Yacht Harbour Wednesday night and set off about 1pm for Yarmouth. Alternatively to pick up buoys or anchor in Newtown Creek . Then Friday morning leaving 8am to catch tide eastwards all the way to Bembridge but possibly with a lunch anchor at Osbourne Bay. (Liase with Stu) . We can Bbq on beach at Bembridge. Then Saturday pm go over to Portsmouth Haslar leaving on Sunday bound for Chichester or Soton albeit maybe against tide unless early depart.

Any thoughts on this ? Roly .

Me and my son should get down

Me and my son should get down to Mercury on Wednesday evening. Our boat is being craned in at 10.30 on Thursday morning. Should be good to go as planned.

We May return on Saturday from Bembridge and miss the Portsmouth trip as we have to drive back to Solihull on Sunday and traffic will be heavy

Hi Roly

Hi Roly

My son is going to join me for the duration, I will meet him at the Hamble Thursday am. On that basis I will come over on Wednesday pm, will there be room for me at Mercury?

If we go to Chichester then I assume that would be an extra day?

It sounded like there wasn't

It sounded like there wasn't a problem with berths at Mercury and their restaurant is back in action .

I mention Chichester only because 2 of our boats are based there. I shall be returning for sure since have work on Monday.

OK, so Sunday am we disperse

OK, so Sunday am we disperse from Haslar, those from Chichester heading East back to base, the rest back to Mercury.

I'd like to make that one an early start so I can drop Rob off in time to get back to IoW before sundown.

I've done a bit of ringing

I've done a bit of ringing around and it seems Bembridge Mari a is fully booked well into August so if we went there we would need to beach our boats. Does that sound ok? In that case I would recommend we go for Bembridge on Saturday since then we can more easily time our trip to arrive off Bembridge at earliest point of rising tide. Sunday would mean either early start or leisurely after lunch back to Southampton. Hope that suits all. Regarding eating and social distancing, since there could be up to 12 people at some point, I suggest that we aim to be provisioned enough to eat on board or bbq and then we can chat al fresco over a glass or two.

New member Frank here. I just

New member Frank here. I just recently bought 'Tarka' from Mike Clarke. Won't have her for a few weeks but hopefully something later in the season. I live in Portsmouth and was thinking of coming down to say hi on Friday evening when you are in Haslar.

That's great Frank. I've

That's great Frank. I've managed to book tables in the Light Ship at Haslar I said up to 12 people so they have given us 3 tables for 6 to allow spacing. You would be welcome to join us for food from 7.30 or just drinks. If you're interested to crew sat/sun please say.

ON SATURDAY THE PLAN WAS TO BEACH AT BEMBRIDGE BUT IT COULD BE A SHORT STAY FOR HOGH TIDE AND RETURN TO PORTSMOUTH IF PEOPLE WISH.
