Swinging Mooring

Hi Stuart.  Again I'm not

Hi Stuart. Again I'm not sure where you are going to be moored. I was on a swinging and drying mooring on southampton water in my first season but the boat was hammered by the constant chop and constantly spun around its mooring. It needs to be somewhere quiet and with plenty of space because the mac does not seem to lie in the same line as other boats. Ideally should have fore and after lines rather than swinging. Aranah is moored in the Hamble between two piles.

Agree with what was said about protection against chaffing and a pin to keep line in Bow roller.

Enjoy your boat.

Again this is one in the egg

Again this is one in the egg sucking department BUT do make sure all connecting shackles (strop to chain, chain to swivel etc) are tight and well moused.

It still amazes me quite how quickly and easily a screw threaded item undoes itself in any mobile environment; it's like magic!
