I need to replace the Jib on my 26M (2008).
I am looking for any advice on other members experiences in purchasing new sails. Any advice on good quality and good value suppliers ?
Thanks

Sails for 26M

Colin Winter at Marlinspike Marine (MacGregor/Tattoo dealer) should have someting in stock. From time to time Doyle sails for a 26M appear on eBay but the postage could be expensive if it's coming from the other side of the pond. A good sailmaker here should have the correct pattern stored on their system for making a new sail. Shop around to see who gives you the best deal. Isn't the internet wonderful!
Certainly Doyle at shamrock Quay I need Southampton can do them. If getting from USA beware the import duty. Are you plann ing a us holiday?

For your comparison our new Furling Jibs come with a 5 year warranty and include a sacrificial strip. They are made from a heavier gauge Dacron than the original Doyle sails and are UK made. The cost including VAT is £450 with just carriage to add
I had a new jib made by Jeckells of Wroxham (Norwich) in 2010 for a 26X. They had a pattern for Macgregor sails and the service was amazingly fast. Just looked up the invoice which was for £467.09 which included delivery. I was very pleased with the jib which was much better than the orriginal and came with a UV strip.
