Transducer adjustment to protect when beaching

Hi all
A niggly problem that is haunting me every time I beach. How can I move the sensors out of the way of any random stones when the boat dries out on an ebb? I have a few possible ideas, but if anyone has a tried and tested method I think it would be a great share. I have a log paddle and depth sounder which are forever getting into trouble. Only a matter of time until one of them breaks completely!

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice; In practice, there is.

Sensors are on the back edge, bottom of the transom
I've not been able to copy the dvd yet, laptops gone stupid. Will get it all wrapped and sent asap.
Cheers
