Does anyone know if spares for the 26X transom valve, ie the rubber seals, are available in UK? Launched 3Ems last week and the valve is dribbllng water when tide out. At present am leaving boat in water and hoping don't get an overfill problem!

Transom ballast valve

Hi Merv
I believe these valves are a standard waste-water fitting as used on caravans / camper vans, UK as well, not just USA. I don't know if you can get spares, but you might be able to get a complete replacement valve. i know it's been discussed on the macregorsailor web forums - I can't remember exactly the technical name of the valve but I did see one on a caravan-spares web site once.
Sorry I can't be more specific!

Thanks guys. Went on the mud and took out the valve and found that the steel slider was badly corroded so bit the bullet and ordered a whole valve replacement fom Falmouth.
Merv
for future reference how much was it
£59.28p including p&p, I actually paid more for one in 2004 (nearly £70) as I had to have one fast shipped from the States because Falmouth didn't have any in stock.
cheers Merv
