John connerly phoned and asked if anyone knows where you can get a steering cable and steering head
his email is off air at present so either reply to this forum or he said he is hapy to share his phone number 01344 625 331
he also says that the steering cables he currently has stick and putting a screwdriver in the cable head and wiggle it will free it but of course this is temporary

Just google for Teleflex Steering, there's plenty of places on the web that supply. Assuming by "head" you mean the helm unit on the console, then you are getting a complete new system, so you don't need to worry about getting the exact cable to fiit the existing helm.
Without more info I don't know if you're after a rotary or rack-and-pinion. You also need to check the cable length, they're not the same on all models (though the early 26Xs were fitted with a somewhat short cable which can be replaced by one a bit longer - it will then route with less-sharp bends).
