hi mac owners,my yam 50 betdl outboard wont rev past 3000rpm then becomes lumpy and stalls,and stalls on low revs when motoring slowly,i have stripped the carbs and found nothing in particular,my boat is ella 2,does anyone have any ideas?or have had similar probs?best wishes will

Double check that the air inlet to the petrol tank is open. Sounds silly and obvious, but I had a similar symptoms recently and found the petrol tank imploding!

thanx Bill,have cleaned out the carbs and the fuel tank and pipes,there was about 2 pints of water and sludge in the tank,she runs a lot better now!
Will,
I had lots of problems with water in the carbs etc over the last couple of seasons and in the end had a "big" fuel filter fitted in the petrol line to ensure water didn't get into the carbs again.
