Yes checked looked through past forums, ruddercraft is the same price, just $35 more postage than BWY, same 6-9 week turn around. Also i will have to pay import fees, from what i an tell, I think at 2.7% and vat 20% on the whole amount which will be another £200 plus. Waiting for the insurance to agree, they appear to want it professionally fitted as well and have asked for quotes, it takes 20min tops. So I can not order it until I know what the insurance want me to do, me buy it, or retreat boat yard deal with the whole claim and order it.

Ruddercraft appear to be the cheapest option, but still can not get an answer on import tax? I guess it would come under water sports goods? I think it will be via the insurance, but this is when we find out how good they are, no claim for 20 yrs + so hopefully they will play nice lol!
It might be HS Code 73259991, but best to confirm with the seller prior to purchase. They should not charge any sales taxes at source. Previously, I used www.simpleduty.com to estimate the total landed cost (incl. shipping and insurance).
I can confirm that I have the mould for the 26M daggerboard if anyone needs it. There is a fabricator in Glasgow who has made new boards for a number of members. These are perhaps not to factory standard but I have found mine to be perfectly useable and considerably cheaper than factory.

Go to knowledge base and you will find a fantastic catalogue of info ( thanks to Rick Jones) amongst which is drawings for 26 M. There is also quick reference to instructions for using the mould if you cared to do it yourself but I would suggest that for most of us it would be best to use the fabricator in Glasgow. My observation is that the quality was v good . Just a few holes needed to be drilled. I daresay all the recipients have been happy.
Hi just thought I would post a few details of getting a new 26x centreboard as it might help someone one day. Blue water yachts were the cheapest in the end but only by a few pound postage. Bwy contract the making of them to ruddercraft who make to order. Turn around is 6-8 weeks, the postage to the UK is currently $245 Inc insurance and takes 1-2 weeks. There are import duties at 6.5% and vat at 20% on the whole amount which comes to £209 and the import product code is hs 3926.90.30 which you use to check what import duties are due. So in all, just under £1,200 delivered.

Excellent summary (and interesting they use the HS code for plastics rather than rudders etc). Hope all goes well with your insurance claim!
