I am getting rain water coming in to the hull, both sides from what appears to be from under the rubbing stake, and then running down the inner hull, I am guessing from the seal between the top deck and hull, anyone removed this before ? Is the deck and hull bolted together?, from past experience on other boats the stake never goes back on as it came of.
any tips or advice or info would be much appreciated,
Cheers tony.

The top & bottom of the hull are indeed bolted together, and although a leak is possible, by far the most common culprits are the shroud chain plates. They poke up through a slot in the deck, and years of slight movement weakens the sealant. Rain water runs down the shrouds and in through the slot.
Try some sealant (clear silicone is best cosmetically) around the slot in the cover plate and see if it reduces the ingress. For a full repair you need to drill out the pop rivets securing the cover plate, re-seal the vertical plates into the deck, and rivet the cover plate back.

That's really helpful and I will check it out, cheers.
Hi Anthony , there has been a thread on this before so probably worth doing a search of our site. However , yes , it is a known thing as the boats tire and decks flex etc. There are bolts about every 8 inches all along the seam . The rubber strike is screw fixed at the stern each side , perhaps under a small cover , and can be pulled off fairly easily. Not a problem to get it back on providing you have cleaned all the old junk out of the rubber ,that's the hardest bit. You can't do it easily with shroud tension on . After releasing the bolts of a section use a block to hold edges apart while you clean them up and apply fresh sicaflex . It's a difficult and messy job but we'll worth it. I would suggest get the seam all bolted up again with no extra sicca then apply the rubber as a second stage , not using excessive sicaflex . You need the weather to be warm and preferably a strong heavy assistant to stretch the rubber evenly to fit the length. I did one side and then the other , leaving the prow untouched.

Sounds easy enough, and thanks for the tip on the wedges, going to get on it when I bring her out next month.
