Hello all,
Just going to renew the jib furling line (the rope that winds onto the drum).
What is that rope made from? Is it Dyneema? I think Dyneema is quite expensive - can't imagine that MacGregor used it ?
So what should I buy?
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike
I don't think you need dynema, the max load is what you can pull directly. Just good quality line, probably 4-5 mm. Main thing to watch for is not going too thick or it will overfill the drum and jam.
I think a line with a smooth rather than soft outer works better too.

I suggest cutting a short length off your current line and taking it to the chandlers and discussing what to buy. It's what I did and all is well.
Simon.
