Since the demise of Maplin I have found it difficult to find quality small electrical items - much of the stuff on Ebay and Amazon is Chinese made where the quality can be questionable.
I was looking for a waterproof extension speaker for my elderly Navman vhf and found the Marine Chandlers quite expensive then I found cpc.co.uk who have a vast stock of many quality items, I bought a German made Visaton 3.5" waterproof speaker for £12.20 inc VAT delivered free.
All I have to do is fit it now !!

Good info John. CPC are part of Farnell, who also have a site in their own name - farnell.co.uk
Another good source is RS Components - uk.rs-online.com. They can be a bit pricey though.
Another supplier I've used for one or two things is 12voltplanet.co.uk, they have a lot of car and marine stuff.
