I have recently created a single database of all known members' boats - previously the details were just part of each users account.

This means there is now a listing of all boats, which you can find under the Members Area.

In addition, your account details have changed slightly, so they now contain a reference to your boat in the main database. There is very little change when viewing your account (or any other user's) - the details of the boat are still shown, along with the mooring if entered. However, you can click on the boat's name, which will take you to a page with all the boat's details. This can include photos, as well as any previous owners.

If it's your own boat, you can edit this page. In addition to keeping the details up to date, including a mooring location, you can also add up to 4 photos, purely for the interest of other members.

If your account doesn't link to a boat, but you've now bought one, please update your details. When you edit your account page you'll see sub-sections for Address and Boat. The Boat section just contains a drop-down listing all our boats. If you've bought your boat from a member (or former member) then the boat is probably already in the list. If it isn't, you can click on the green "+" and enter the details, which will be added to the list. Either way, once you have picked the correct boat from the drop-down, click Save.

For a boat already in the list, it may show as still belonging to its former owner - people don't always tell us when they sell their boats! This doesn't stop you picking it (it will show as belonging to both of you), but you won't be able to edit it until it's relinquished by its former owner. In this case, please contact webmaster@macgregorowners.org.uk, and we can sort it out.

If you sell your boat, then please update your account and select -None- for your boat. This will make it easier for the next member to link to it, and will automatically add you to the list of former owners too.

Note that the old account sections Boat details and Previous boat have gone, as all that data has been transferred to the new system.
