Commodore's Cruising - Easter '18

The weather hasn't been great but I managed three day/night visits over the Easter period, with three sets of friends. First, with my neighbour Rob who, this year, is sharing the costs of our Windermere mooring fees in order to learn the ropes. Second, with my colleague from work and his wife and two children who were staying in a chalet at Fellbarrow, adjacent to Bowness. We visited Wray Castle and dined at the Wateredge Inn, in Ambleside. Finally with my friends, brothers Guy and Gav. We had lots of wind and fully reefed on the main and with just a third of the genoa, we were rocketing along....and then found some shelter behind Rawlinson's Nab. We made a bit of a hash of mooring at Bowness but once safely on, we were there for the night. Nicola and I also had a week in Sicily. My son is spending a year working on Etna. We stayed in Aci Castelo, north of Catania and I found the perfect mooring site and a great store for boat stuff. Looking forward to the season ahead.
