Double Roller stop on trailer?

All,

I was watching some folks recovering thier racing sailboats while waiting to use the slipway, and noticed one of the trailers used a double-roller system for a bow roller that pivoted when being tightened up. This looked like it could be a cure for the the slip, then "bump" I seem to need to do to get the boat situated correctly on the trailer.

Has anyone seen these before, and would they work in this application?

Re: Double Roller stop on trailer?

A roller system for the forward bunk should certainly make the boat settle onto the trailer better, and keep the bow tight to the "V". I did toy with trying something like that myself at one point, but it's a lot of work, and also hard to mount a roller assembly low enough. Macs sit much lower on the trailers than many bother boats, because of the submerged-trailer launch-recovery concept. Roller trailers are in general designed so you winch the boat up on to the trailer.

If you know anyone who builds boat trailers it could be worth getting an opinion.
