Fibreglass repair on a rudder

Hi
One of my rudders hit a submerged concrete pillar, my sacrificial pin was not so sacrificial (stainless steel) and the result was that my rudder came off worse. The pin hole is so close to the top of the rudder (about 5mm) I'm not sure how I am going to repair this without some substantial reinforcing. This is my first attempt at fibreglass repairs. Any ideas?

Hi
I don't think you need to worry too much about fixing the rudder... post a couple more picks and I can guide you through the process.
More of a concern is if it has altered your rudder angles... our boat had been reversed into something hard and bent the brackets, which made one fail completely plus reduced the lock by about 70%!

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice; In practice, there is.
