boat positions on google

Ive added a pin point on Google maps to show the location of my boat Hogwash
The theory is that members know where other members are so that you know who to contact for local advise

Re: boat positions on google

Andy,
How does one add a pin to the map, is the map "owned and policed by you" or just a general Google Public Map?
Would it be better to have a UKMOA "owned and policed map"?
Mark Stanton did start a Google Map of anchorages on the old Smart website but I don't know if this is still available?
There was also talk of connecting a map to the slipway and launch site info.
All of the above would be great and another positive for membership, so could we add it to the AGM as a discussion point?
Cheers
Morris
p.s. would also be useful to add Boats for Sale info and maybe Wanted items.

I hope this leads you to "Orcas", our 26X

p.s. I wouldn't describe this Google Map as easy for "normal" lay internet users to mark & share for themselves!
