A great opportunity has opened up for us to operate a stand at this years Southampton Boat Show in September (18th to 27th). We hope to have at least one boat in the water and also a stand at which we can interact with the public to promote the Macgregor boat concept and the functioning of the MOA . We would really like to hear from anyone interested to show their boat at this event or support in running the stand. We would emphasise that this is a rare opportunity to show off our boats which have not been represented at the Show for many years so we are hoping for good support.
Please post any interest you have in this event on this forum so that a committee member can contact you to discuss further details WITHOUT ANY OBLIGATION at this stage. We are really keen to show off the range of fun we get from our boats and maybe could put your stories with some photos on a display , so please just chip in at this stage so we can bring it all together.

I can come and help - for some of the time....
If an old geezer who sold his boat in 2020 can be of any use, I'd be delighted to help.
Regards to all, and especially to anyone who remembers me.
John Richardson, Ex owner Sonny 26M
I remember - not quite sure what I remember!
I would be happy to help in any way

Many thanks to Liz , Mark and John for offering to help out , and to Andy Vincent for arranging things and offering to bring his boat all the way down from Lancashire.....however........WHERE ARE ALL THE OTHER MEMBERS IN THE SOUTH OF ENGLAND ?
It would be great if we had more show of enthusiasm from boat owners in the south , either to bring their boat or man a stand. Why the hesitancy I wonder ? Is it fear of commitment or inexperience/imposter syndrome?
Please don't let these things put you off. So long as you are enthusiastic about your boat and the Macgregor Owners Association you qualify!
Trailer sailer type boats are resurgence in popular and it would be nice to have Macgegors represented in this. Our vision was to create a stand with some good posters and a screen showing the variety of activities possible with a Mac and some of the feedback from members. We have had some interest from the yachting magazines so hopefully we would get some publicity from them.
The aim in all this would be to grow the Association and the general interest in Macgregor boats , which is good for our sense of camaraderie but also boosts the value of our boats when we come to sell.
What we don't want is a flop or an activity which overburdens just a few members. So , IF WE DONT GET CONSIDERABLY MORE SHOWS OF INTEREST IN THE NEXT WEEK WE SHALL FEEL OBLIGED TO WITHDRAW and postpone to next year.
Hi Roly, as I said to you at the Solent meet, I would be available. Also with ANDIAMO if needed. I do usually go to the show anyway. Please let me know if I can help in anyway leading up to the event.
