Hello all,
We now have Breckon in the water (Titchmarsh Marina) and can now focus on getting the details sorted, and could do with some help from more experienced heads please.
Interior is in fine shape, but the upper trim panel that sits around the centreboard housing below the cabin ceiling has been water damaged (that's another story) which has made the panel sag, revealing the wiring etc. behind it - see the blurry pic attached.
You can see from the other two photos that it's been taken out and replaced before. I was hoping to template this onto a nice piece of marine ply and then find a more elegant means to re-attach it. I'm contemplating re-purposing some kind of gate bolt so that I can slide the end piece on securely and lock with a screw or clip.
Before I start on this, has anyone here come up with or come across a solution that I could use as inspiration?
Regards,
Nick

Hi Nick
I hope someone has an elegant solution for you. I have accessed this space a few times and so far have been extremely lucky not to brake the panel as it is a tight fit to wiggle down the dagger board trunk.
My immediate thoughts would be to make a 3 piece replacement. I'd tryto make a new equal sized, hopefully elegant surround, probably double thickness to go around the trunking. The two equal halves would be secret bolted together from the mirror side. I'd then have a separate panel to cover the remainder of the access hole the edge nearest the trunking could slot into the new surround.
