health problems forces sale:

Bowhite is a 1991 MacGregor 26C She was originally won at the Boat show, spent a year on someone’s drive and then was bought by two brothers in law a Mr. Bowen and a Mr. White hence the name. I bought her in 2003. Her trailer is newish and was specially built by Hayling Trailers in 2001. The trailer is currently being serviced, brake pads renewed etc. She has a Tohatsu 9.9hp outboard, which was bought and fitted new in 2006 – so has had very little use. Has two remote tanks and is very economical, the engine runs on unleaded petrol

Because of my wife’s illness we have kept her on the Thames for the past 18 months and used her as a river boat. Something to which she has proved remarkably adaptable

The boat is well fitted out and the interior upholstery replaced in the last 2 years.

Sails include:

* Mainsail;
* Genoa;
* a brand new and unused jib sail;
* The boat has a roller reefing system, anchor, fenders, and all running lights. Full instrumentation visible from the tiller including compass etc. It also has the full rear stainless steel pushpit and swim ladder;
* Internally the boat is fitted with all new upholstery and sponge seating – thicker and of a higher quality than the original.
* It has a sea toilet in a separate cabin.
* Cooking is via an Origo 3000 double burner non pressurised sprit cooker which works excellently.
* The electrical equipment is powered by two batteries which can be charged from the outboard. Internal 12volt lighting, stereo system including CD player and a VHF.

Re: Macgregor 26C - Bowhite

Hi Brian

I am afraid I am not a potential customer! However I am thinking about selling my 26C and noticed that you put your advert on line in January 2010, over two years ago. Is it sold and did you get much interest through the MacGregor web site? If you have sold it would you be comfortable telling me how much you sold it for?

Best regards

Bill
