Big Mac 23

quentin.sands's picture

As some of you will know, the Big Mac 23 event was cancelled due to the poor forecast for the Cardiff Bay area. However, as an alternative, three boats made the journey to the more sheltered waters of the Tamar and launched at Weir Quay Boatyard for a week of average weather but above average fun. The trio of boats made it for nights in Plymouth, Looe and Fowey - and back again. Full report to follow in the Autumn Newsletter.

Big Mac 22 - Clyde Cruising

Big Mac 22, the annual gathering of the MacGregor clan, took place at the end of July in the Clyde and surrounding waters launching from Largs. At any one time there were 12 boats involved - not all of them MacGregors - and a good time was had by all. The weather was generally kind and all boats enjoyed a good mix of sailing, motoring, fishing and chillin. It's not always easy to sign up to events where you don't know everyone but these gatherings never fail to meet all needs and there was a great mix of folk of all types, new members and old stagers, who rubbed along just fine.

Big Mac 2021 - Chichester

A selection of photographs from a variety of sources that I hope capture most of the people, places and boats that were part of this enjoyable week on the south coast exploring Chichester harbour before venturing west to Gosport, across to Bembridge on the Isle of Wight and then back to Chichester, between July 28th and August 4th, 2021.

There are over 90 images. I suggest you choose a cup of what you like, a favourite tune or two, find the biggest screen you can, turn your engine off, sit back and let the sails take over.

Big Mac 2019 Windermere

Poole 2016 as experienced by Tenacity and crew ...

Tenacity and Pilchard launched at Cobb's Quay Marina, Sonny and White Lightning sailed in. First trip was up the River Frome to Wareham, then out heading West to Swanage/Studland and back to Poole, next East for lunch in Christchurch Bay then on to Keyhaven. A morning at Hurst Castle waiting for the tide to come up, then next day further East to Lymington. Then we did a quick 'there-and-back' to Yarmouth. Rod and Dave brought back trailers from Poole to Lymington so we could haul out there. We had a great time, as usual. See the next magazine for all the gory details ...

Avon - May bank holiday 2016

rick.jones's picture

First Association outing of the season, a slightly damp Bank Holiday weekend on the Avon!

The flotilla consisted of Rod & Jill in Pilchard, Liz & Dave in Tenacity, and Rick & Glenis in White Lightning. We launched at Welford Boat Station, a few miles downstream of Stratford-upon-Avon, and headed further downstream, stopping the night at Evesham, and reaching Wyre Piddle the following day before needing to turn back. We spent the second night at Offenham lock.
