My fault for trusting the marina to hose her down at launch . All drums, shoes, inner & outer bearings required .But where to start ? Being American I can see problems obtaining replacement.Possibly a engineering company could re line the drums.
Hoping others have sourced such items for their trailers and can advise ?
Thanks
Hi Gary,
I thought I would have the same problem but the Mcgregor trailer for my 26x had been fitted with Knott brakes and everything was off the shelf.
I got all I needed from Trailertek in Winchester. They were very helpful and delivered brakes, bearings, etc.. next day.
Best of luck, Mark.

Thanks Mark
That is great information. Will contact them 👍
The axles and hubs for the macgregor trailers were all fitted in UK....the Xs often had Alco bearings fitted by West Mersea Trailers whereas the earlier Ms had Induspension setup fitted to US trailers shipped in via Falmouth. I believe the brake shoe system is similar whereas the Induspension bearings are easier and cheaper to replace , but don't last as long.
I hope you find a source of brakes Gary . Along the south coast I strongly recommend Compass Trailers since they will come out to you and sort things on site. Might be similar where you are.
PS....should have read by article and poem in the magazine...you got the Tow-bar Blues!
