I had the note below from Tom O'Brien, unofficial leader of the Irish Mac owners. I intended to put his note in the next edition of the MacGregor Sailor - now at the printers - but forgot. I am sure Tom would welcome contact from any Mac owners in Ireland or any from the Uk who would like to visit - very highly recommended - and his contact details can be accessed in the Members Area of the website - members only, of course.
It is nice to be able to say Yes we are back sailing again. We launched Tiftt Loy (Tom's 19) 3 weeks ago . Dusty (Tom's X - yes Two Boats Tom!) is planned for launching next weekend with a sail from Mountshannon to Dromineer with a stop over at Dromane Harbour. We hope to sail each weekend on Lough Derg from then on until Mid-June when we move upriver to Lough Ree to join another group of sailors some of them MacGregors and some old ex MacGregor owners . The last week of June, it's planned to return to Lough Derg until August weekend and then move down to Limerick City and on to Kilrush. Using Kilrush as a base to explore the Shannon Estuary and depending on weather and commitments of boat owners as to our return date .
