Photo gallery

Welcome to the new photo gallery area of the site. This has space for a lot of photos, organised into Galleries and Albums. There are quite a few pictures already, but there is scope for plenty more. You can view any of the pictures, either individually or as a slide show.

The main categories are Personal Albums and Rallies, plus some miscellaneous photos. Provided you are logged in (it's the same login as the forum), then you can create one or more personal albums. Once you are on the main gallery page, click on Members' photos – then, as well as being able to look at other members' pictures, you will see a section Create / Order My Albums with some buttons. Start by creating an album, then you will be able to upload your photos.

You upload photos in two stages. First, click on Upload file in the top menu bar – this will enable you to enter up to 6 file names of JPG files to be uploaded. Once they have all uploaded, you then select which album to put each one in, where you can also add a title and description (you can also edit these details later if you need to).

Give it a try — there is a new topic in the Web Site section of the forum for discussing how to use the gallery, and get the best out of it, so look there if you have any problems.

Image size

If the JPG files you upload are too big they will be rejected, the longer dimension of an image file cannot be larger than 2048 pixels. Images from cameras with a resolution of 4 mega-pixels or more are bigger than this, so you will need to re-size them using image software on your PC before uploading. Often the easiest rule to follow is to reduce the size of all images by 50%.

Special note to Event Organisers

You have additional privilege to upload and edit pictures in the Rallies albums. Please use this to build a photo-record of the event! If you need a new album creating for your event, please email webmaster@macgregorowners.org.uk.
